ROLE SUMMARY
The Lead Researcher leads cross-cutting research that connects technical, economic, and policy dimensions of the energy transition. The role spans power systems, digital infrastructure, market design, and regulatory frameworks, producing analysis that is rigorous and directly usable by decision-makers, while contributing to capability building and structured stakeholder engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Leadership
- Lead research projects from problem framing through delivery, managing scope, quality, and timelines.
- Develop analytical frameworks robust to technical, economic, and policy constraints.
- Synthesize literature, data, and stakeholder perspectives into clear recommendations.
Translation and Engagement
- Present research to regulators, utilities, policymakers, and technical audiences.
- Facilitate multi-stakeholder processes on complex or contested issues.
- Contribute to capability building through training design and structured dialogues.
Team Contribution
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to internal quality standards.
- Support development of FSR Global’s research agenda and work programme prioritisation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in energy, engineering, economics, public policy, or related fields.
- 5–7 years of experience in research, consulting, or cross-functional roles.
- Strong synthesis, systems thinking, and executive-grade writing and presentation skills.
- Strong quantitative capability, including the ability to structure and execute modelling and data analysis to support policy, market, and system-level insights.
ROLE-SPECIFIC APPLICATION MATERIALS
- Two writing samples demonstrating cross-domain synthesis and clarity.
