About Us

Our Approach to Excellence

We are a group of 300+ experts from across the globe, applying a system thinking lens to analyse, frame and deep dive into energy transition regulations and policies for countries in the global south. We do this by combining our deep academic competence with our strong consulting capabilities. We bring in a multi-stakeholder, multi-disciplinary and an omni/multi-channel approach to our fields of work, and make all of our knowledge accessible to drive impact at a large scale through trans-continental knowledge exchanges.

We develop and disseminate knowledge through our 3-pillars of activities –

ResearchWe carry out applied research with the purpose of developing economically, legally, and socially sound regulation and policy, using a multidisciplinary approach.

Policy Dialogue – Our policy dialogue offers a platform to discuss and debate regulatory issues, which brings together the world of academia and practice.

TrainingWe design training for energy professionals on topics focused on global south, which is delivered by an international and national faculty including academia and practitioners.

Our Journey

FSR Global was established in India in 2019 by the European University Institute (EUI)Florence School of Regulation (FSR) – under a statement of intent with NITI Aayog. Building on the legacy of FSR, we aim to strengthen the global South-South and North-South transcontinental knowledge exchange on infrastructure policy and regulation. We function as an independent sister school of FSR.

governance

We are set up as a Section 8, non-profit company under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in India.

We are governed by the Policy Council, which is constituted of Distinguished Fellows, to help develop and oversee the knowledge outputs, and is supported by expertise from a wider network of professionals. FSR Global is currently headed by Swetha Ravi Kumar who serves as the Executive Director of the organisation.
