The Role 

Grid Analyst – An entry-level position focused on data analysis, modelling and digital tools for modern power systems. 

The role supports projects leveraging AI/ML, advanced grid technologies, and utility data to enhance grid reliability, enable renewable energy integration, and strengthen consumer participation. 

Key Responsibilities 

1. Data & Modeling 

  • Collect, clean, and analyze utility and grid datasets (e.g., metering, demand, renewable generation). 
  • Assist in running grid simulation models (e.g., PowerFactory, OpenDSS, or proprietary tools). 
  • Support application of AI/ML techniques for demand forecasting, anomaly detection, or predictive maintenance under senior supervision. 

2. Smart Grid Research & Analysis 

  • Research and document use cases of smart grid technologies such as AMI, DER integration, microgrids, and EV charging infrastructure. 
  • Contribute to cost-benefit analyses and assess policy implications of digital grid technologies. 
  • Develop case studies on international smart grid best practices relevant to India. 

3. Policy & Project Support 

  • Prepare presentations, briefs, and reports summarizing analysis and findings for policymakers, regulators, and utility stakeholders. 
  • Assist in organizing workshops, consultations, and technical discussions with partners. 
  • Collaborate with senior researchers on integrated resource planning and smart tariff design projects.  

Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields. 
  • Experience: 0–2 years (including internships or academic projects) in power systems, data analytics, or energy technology. 
  • Basic understanding of power systems and electricity markets. 
  • Exposure to programming and data analysis tools (Python, R, MATLAB); familiarity with AI/ML libraries is a plus. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, research-focused environment. 

Remuneration: As per market standards in India.
